Vibrant shoots in Collectionet’s May curated room Frame
Room Section Heading 1
The poetic work of Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) seen in the latest Collectionet room, illustrates perfectly that 1970s design was not all chrome, colours and shagpile. The Japanese/American designer Noguchi, like many 20th designers, was multi-facetted and worked in sculpture, ceramics, architecture, gardens, furniture and lighting, seeing design as a whole for all areas we interact with in life.

The American Design sale at Piasa in May has many such restrained and beautifully designed pieces by 70’s American masters such as Edward Wormley, Terence Harold Robsjohn-Gibbings and George Nakashima to name but a few. Their work predominately uses woods, webbing, leather and paper, their preferred materials are natural, timeless and very collectable.
